The golden liquid that helps us kickstart the day, stimulates our senses is the humble tea. To some, it is the elixir of life. It is the second most consumed drink in the world.

Tea is produced from a plant called Camellia Sinesis. There are thousands of varieties of tea available across the world 1)region it was grown in 2)the time of year 3) the processing method followed.

Masala Tea
It is the most popular beverage made by a mixture of herbs, spices, cinnamon and cloves. Mamri tea plants from the Assam region are used to make Masala Chai with different proportions of spices.

Ginger tea and cardamom tea along with lemongrass are the few most popular varieties of tea found in India.

Green Tea
It is the most popular tea and is the favourite choice amongst Asians.Some forms of. green tea is scented with flowers or mixed with fruits to create scented or flavoured teas. Plain green tea has a clean and delicious taste.

Noon Tea

Noon chai is the variety of traditional tea usually cooked in a similar. Pink tea is a traditional tea beverage from Kashmir and is also served in many parts of Rajasthan and Nepal.

Black Tea

It is one of the most consumed types of tea. This can be savoured alone or can be had with milk or tea. It also makes a great variety of tea.

Butter Tea
It is made of yak butter tea leaves and salt by the Himalayan people of India, Nepal and Bhutan. This is known as Po Cha in Tibet and is known for its unexpected salty flavour rather than sweet.

Iced Tea

Iced tea is a common drink in India, mostly available as ginger lemon iced tea or lemon iced tea.
Nestle and Lipton are the most popular brands of iced teas in India.

White Tea
White Tea harvested in India, Sri Lanka and China.

Irani Chai
It is very popular in Pune and Hyderabad and mostly available in only Irani hotels and is served along with bun maska.

Amrut Tulya
This tea is made of freshwater ginger, crushed cardamom and tea leaves. It is cooked in brass vessels in Maharashtra and is considered equivalent to nectar.

Tandoori Chai
It is one of the unique chai born in Pune. In India this type of tea is served in clay pots known as Khulads.

Herbal Tea
It is made from hot water and served with a variety of plant materials such as lemon, ginger, lemongrass, hibiscus, bael and cinnamon, long pepper and clove.
Herbal teas are made with dried leaves, seeds, roots and fresh flowers by pouring hot water.
Herbal teas are used to support the digestive system. Giloy root tea, parijat leaves tea, peppermint tea are a few popular herbal teas.
