A Case of Revival

A Case of Revival

Raju has always loved playing with colours and brushes. He has mastered folk and traditional painting which are close to extinction. He has always been proud and confident about his works of his hands. He has always secretly wished to revive it, and has always stared at the doors for opportunities to knock.

Raju has also been a meritorious student. He has topped the school finals from his district. Fate has taken him to one of the topmost universities of the world. He has begun to earn accolades and greater positions. However, in the process he has lost touch with his first love, art.

Everything has been going smoothly until the world has come under Covid’s fearful grip. Raju has spent in his foreign home in the first wave. Then, when everything has started to be a little normal, he has decided to come to his hometown. He feels a sudden urge to meet his parents.

“What if…?”

Raju has shivered from the mere thought. The cases have been rising. The scenario is getting worse.

Soon, Raju lands in India. From the constant cacophony of the busy world, he discovers a much-needed tranquillity in the rustic life. But, again, the waves have commenced. And, he has been informed of his company’s decision to reduce the workforce. It would be better if he can come back fast. In no way he can manage to return. Despite his explanations he has been fired. The developed country bothers the least about its people!

Raju spends few days glum and locked in his room. Surprisingly his parents don’t comfort him with sweet words. Instead, they bring out in the open, his paintings, carefully preserved. And, one day, he notices his own masterpieces.

“It will be a fresh start, indeed.”

Raju is overjoyed like a little child receiving his favourite toys. And, from then, the professional Raju gets locked up while the artist Raju comes to the foreplay. Now, he extensively utilises social media to display his works. Gradually, he attracts many young as well as old people who would love to join him in his mission to revive the art and culture of the country.
