Actress Mona Singh on freezing her Eggs #breakingstereotype
Securing a job at the right age, getting married at the correct age, making babies at the perfect age...it seems our definition of being settled revolve around these societal myths. It is difficult to accept it easily but, there is more to life and much more to cherish, beyond your marriage and pregnancy.
The 'Jassi jaisi koi nahi' fame Mona Singh, who married to Shyam Rajgopalan last year, broke this myth like a boss. She recently declared in an interview that, she had her eggs frozen at the age of 34.
In the interview she said that, even though she loves kids, she isn't mentally prepared for it as of now, freezing her eggs made her feel free.
She said , she loves to chill and wishes to travel the world with her partner before taking up the motherhood responsibility.
She also added that, her mother was quite happy with her decision. She had to take a few months break from work ,as the process involved a lot if moods swings. She said she took a 5 months break for the process and now she feels free and relieved.
Isn't it so encouraging that a celebrity opens up on her personal life. This is such a beautiful way of breaking a stereotype because, embracing motherhood isn't about the perfect age or right time but, it is about how prepared you are you accept the new changes in life ,with open arms.
You don't need to rush into any phase of your life as per the societal norms.Motherhood is the most beautiful feeling and it is a personal choice whether to or not, when and how one wants to enter into it.
Let's be fair to all the women around.
Let's be less judgemental.
Let's applaud for women like Mona who break these rigid taboos.
