Excess Of Anything Is Bad
Speech is silver, silence is golden.
We have heard the above saying an umpteen times right from the days of our childhood. Our scriptures have motivated us to meditate for a few minutes everyday. A few minutes in silence frees the mind of tumult and helps us have a tete a tete with ourselves. It helps us think clearly. Infact motivational speakers vouch that a few minutes in solitude early in the morning will help set the right tone for the day.
Silence is beautiful. The chirping of birds can be heard clearly when there is pin drop silence. But is silence goldern all the time? Some even term silence as a weapon. But when overly used it becomes a self destructive weapon.
We women have made silence a part and parcel of our life. It has become our loyal companion.
When we are ridiculed about our choice of outfits we just listen silently not saying a word.
We are questioned about the choices we make and we listen to the demeaning remarks of society in silence.
We opt to remain silent in order to maintain peace in the family.
We nod in a yes when we want to say No in order so that none of our loved ones are hurt.
When we aren't allowed to celebrate festivals in our masternal home we accept it silently.
When we are given incessant suggestions on how to mother our children we graciously accept them despite not liking the unsolicited advise.
Women remain silent sometimes to maintain the reputation of the family and the other times to maintain a tranquil environment for her children.
The dreadful creates a tornado within her ready to take everyone by storm.Never bottle your emotions. Speak your mind. Be assertive. Voice your opinions and feelings.
Never let anyone treat your silence as your weakness. Remember excess of anything is bad.
Never shy away from standing up for yourself.
