Feminism isn't about hating Men!
Blogging has come toe naturally and so is my choice of topics for the blogs.I like to pen down the relevant social issues, that might help to overcome many adversities and blind faith.
Thus, as I choose to write more on the issues related to woman and, their upliftment, many a times I am being asked, by my friends and family that 'Am I a feminist?' and I give them back asking 'What is Feminsim for you?' And, there I go...bang on! For a whole bunch of people around, Feminsim is all about supporting woman, fighting for woman rights, supporting Feminist literature....etc...
I pity on those people who tweak their own definition of feminsim and Oh! They never fail to judge the society, be it a male or female ????
To me, feminism isn't all about 'supporting a woman only'. Rather, I believe Feminsim is the belief that men & women should have equal rights and opportunities. And, I also emphasize on the importance that the feminism remains intersectional and unbiased , and seek equality for all ,overlooking the gender, sex orientation, race, social status, etc.
Feminism is about elevating the feminine gender but, not at the cost of putting down others. It should be built on the base of cooperation, respect, honesty, impartiality, integrity, altruism and morality. My feminist mind believes in making a woman understand her righteousness and give her courage to stand for her betterment, without spreading any hatred or envy about men.
You don't always need to grab attention by bragging about how women struggle rather, you can show up to the world, the inspiring success story after the struggle.
Thus, not just a woman but a man can be a feminist too. Feminsim stands for equal rights of men ,women and transgenders!
There's a myth with almost all of us that Feminsim is just about a woman's identity and fight and putting the men down. No! for me and many others like me, Feminsim is about men and women standing together. Abhorrence for any gender or race isn't the right approach towards upliftment of the society. 'Together we grow' should be the motto. If someone fails to acknowledge you, doesn't make him or her anti-feminist.
I proudly stand by my statement that 'I am a Feminist and, I don't hate men!! Does that make my Feminsim 'a fake one!?
