Gender equality is one of the most important issues and keep on making headlines every now and then. When we say Gender equality this simply means we are talking about the human rights or equal rights for both the genders.
This word is good to hear but practically if we see, there is much more difference in the rights given to men and women, there are differences in the opportunities existing for both the genders.
First of all women comparatively have less access on educations, if educated then may or may not be professionally educated, if professionally educated then may have lesser scope of getting good job,and even after getting good job there is chances of monetary discrimination. So this challenge or say fight keep going throughout .
Even at home front, a woman may have to compromise her job for marriage, then for maternity purpose, then for husband’s transfer or for any family issue. Etc etc.. means everywhere and every time she may be called upon for job break due to any XYZ reason.
This is the drawback of our social system that woman is considered as a weak gender. Husband and wife, even if they are of same age-but the women would be placed on a step lower than husband in family hierarchy. Even if they are equally educated but the woman would be asked to compromise with her work or office timings. Husbands tours will always be of utmost important but woman would be asked to not entertain any such office assignments. And even if both are working and earning same, but woman will be supposed to share the details of her expenses or income spent whereas no one would ask husband about her monetary arrangements.
Though, females are fighting for their rights, they are taking education, going out for jobs but then too there is long journey ahead . We must understand that its not about the metro or bg city’s women only but we will have to take the national as a whole and will have to talk about all the women in urban and rural areas.
