सावन बीतो जाए पिहरवा। Story By Saumya Mishra

Saawan beeto jaaye piharwa, man mera ghabraaye… aiso gaye pardes piya tum , chain hamein nahin aaye.

It was drizzling outside, and inside a pair of light brown eyes dropped a few secretive tears. What else a newly wedded wife, 1500 miles away from her beloved, could do. He went away to his workplace, and I had to stay back as per family traditions.

The rain and the song were synergising to my restlessness. I myself was surprised at the tender love that was strengthening in my heart day by day .I was desperate to be with him. But still couldn’t spurt my thoughts frankly – maybe that was the beauty of an arranged marriage.

Amidst these thoughts I forwarded the song to him …….. तू जो नहीं तो ऐसे पिया हम , जैसे सूना आँगना ,नैना तिहारी राह निहारें ,नैनों को तरसाओ ना….The song echoed in the emptiness of his room . September, rains, loneliness and my upcoming birthday – all created a cumulative effect and he immediately booked the next tickets to unite with the other part of his heart that ached and longed equally!!

We celebrated my first birthday after marriage together; it was my first Teej vrat the same day. He came crossing all the hurdles and made it special.
