Main bhi thak jati hoon!

Tina came home after a long frenetic day. She was dead tired. Targets, continuous calling and sitting in front of the computer for hours was all so exhausting.

She lied down on the sofa. Wanted a cup of strong tea but the exuberating pain in her neck and back stopped her from going to the kitchen. Being a newly wed, she was little ambivalent to ask her mother in law to make tea for her. On the contrary her mother in law when saw Tina, asked her what she was thinking to prepare for dinner. Tina took a deep breath, drank a glass of water from the kitchen and sat on sofa with eyes closed.

Almost after 10 minutes her husband, Mohit came back from his office. A smile crossed Tina's face. Within seconds her mother in law came running from the kitchen. Took his briefcase, patted his shoulder and told him to rest. She gave him water, asked for the tea and snacks and went to the kitchen hurriedly to prepare that.

The table was laid. She asked Tina to get up and serve him snacks. The tired look on Tina's face was completely ignored. Tina asked Mohit to pass a plate.
And suddenly her mother in law got annoyed. "Tina can't you see Mohit is so tired. He was working so hard, had so many meetings and at times had to travel to. How can you expect him to help you? You were just sitting in the AC office, attending calls and after coming back you have rested for good 20 minutes and now you are asking him to help you."

Tina tried to control her tears. On the other hand Mohit was least bothered. He was concerned about his food, his rest and was waiting to watch the soccer match. Tina kept thinking that Was she just relaxing in the office the whole day? No work..was sitting under the AC. She had all those innumerable unbearable upsetting questions in her mind.

She kept doing her chores without uttering a word as frankly she didn't have strength for an argument too. This was her everyday story.

The same happens with many of us in our houses. Where it is declared that a man's job is very difficult than a woman's, even if they are at the same level or same position. Men can still relax after coming home but what about women. Their job goes on for 24 hours. They come back from their respective jobs, take care of the house, the children, in laws, the expectations, the rituals, the relatives and what not.

Give them a break please! They too need a helping hand and a family who considers and acknowledge their hard work, who stand by them as well. That is actually what a woman wants after a day's long struggle.
Someone to hug her and tell her that I know you had a long day. Take rest and we will manage things later, together.

Believe me the fatigue and tiredness vanishes in seconds if there is someone to understand her and share her responsibilities.
