Want to hear it once again
Empty school benches,empty corridors,
Vacant are the classes, waiting for children to aboard.
Kids crave to dip in hues umpteen,
They miss their homework, classwork, punishments, gangs and canteens.
They want to hear the ringing bell announcing beginning of school,
Ears strain hard to catch, but fail to resolute.
They whim to savour the melodious bell chiming to mark the happy lunchtime,
Time has changed, silence has creeped undefined.
They hope to revel the ringing bell to declare the end of day at school,
The moment pupils expect to be home sweet soon.
When will the golden days be back,
When children will rush to school with their backpacks.
Teachers and students, their bond can't be forgotten,
The big gates of school, when will they open.
We all yearn to see the yellow school bus and the morning hush hush once again,
Schools to be brimmed with laughter, resonate with the iconic ringing bell, heartily conversations, we all can only pray.
